This site sets no cookies. It stores exactly one thing in your browser: a note that you accepted these documents, so it does not ask again. No analytics, no trackers, nothing sent to anyone. This document says so in a form you can check, and points at the two products, which do set cookies and have their own policies.
1The whole answer
appsithink.com does not set cookies. It does not use a pixel, a tag manager, a session recorder or an analytics service of any kind, and nothing on this site reports your visit to a company that is not us.
It stores one entry in your browser's local storage, named ait-legal-accepted. It is written only when you press "i agree" on the card that opens on your first visit to the home page, and it holds two things: the version of these documents you accepted and the time you accepted them. It is read only by the home page, to know not to ask you again, and it is never sent to us or to anybody else.
That entry is strictly necessary for the thing you asked for, which is to agree once and then use the site, so it is not something we ask separate consent for. If you choose "no thanks", nothing is stored at all, and the next visit asks again.
To withdraw your acceptance or remove the entry, clear this site's data in your browser. The card will ask again on your next visit.
2Why you do not have to take our word for it
Every page of this site is served with a Content Security Policy whose script-src names a single file, appsithink.com/consent.js. That directive tells your browser to run that one script and nothing else, inline or external, so no other script, including one injected by our host or added by accident, can run here. The only script on the site is consent.js, on the home page, and you can read it at appsithink.com/consent.js.
To check it yourself: open the page, open your browser's developer tools, and look under Application or Storage. Cookies and Session Storage are empty. Local Storage is empty until you accept, and afterwards holds the single ait-legal-accepted entry described above. You can also read the policy header directly in the Network tab, on the request for the page itself.
The fonts and images on this site are served from appsithink.com, not from a font or image network, so loading a page here does not tell a third party that you did.
3What your browser does on its own
Your browser will cache the pages, the stylesheets, the fonts and the images so that a second visit is faster. That is an ordinary HTTP cache, it is under your control rather than ours, and it is not storage we write to or can read.
Our host records the ordinary technical information every web server receives in order to answer a request, which is described in the Privacy Policy rather than here, because a server log is not a cookie and calling it one would blur a distinction that matters.
4The products are different, and say so themselves
inaff and commentrs are applications with accounts, so both of them need to keep you signed in, and keeping somebody signed in requires storing something in their browser. Each publishes its own cookie policy covering exactly what it stores, and each is a separate agreement with you rather than an extension of this one.
inaff lists every cookie it is capable of setting, generated from the same register the code reads, at inaff.app/cookies. commentrs does the same at commentrs.com/legal/cookies.html. Neither list is maintained by hand, so neither can quietly go out of date.
If you followed a link from this site to one of theirs, nothing about your visit here travelled with you beyond the ordinary referrer your browser sends, and this site sets Referrer-Policy to strict-origin-when-cross-origin so that the referrer is the domain and never the page.
5If this ever stops being true
Adding anything else that stores data in your browser would mean writing another script for this origin, which is a deliberate act and not something that happens by accident. If it happens, this document changes with it, in the same commit, and the effective date above moves. When these documents change in a way that matters, the version stored in ait-legal-accepted no longer matches, and the home page asks you again.
This document is generated from legal/appsithink/cookies.json in the source tree, together with the other documents that govern this site, so a change here is a change to a published version with a date on it rather than a quiet edit.
